Customer case: The "green" trolleys of Alden Biesen

Stad Bilzen's golf carts, used for exploring the beautiful surroundings around Alden Biesen, were originally equipped with traditional lead-acid batteries. While these batteries bore fruit, they required intensive maintenance. Regular checks, acid level adjustments and corrosion management made maintenance time-consuming and costly. As a result, the city of Bilzen decided to say goodbye to the usual lead-acid batteries, with sustainability and lifespan are increasingly becoming the focus of attention.

The City of Bilzen approached Autobat for advice on improving battery performance and efficiency. It was important to take into account the previous battery pack, the customer's wishes and what Autobat could offer in this respect. After thorough discussions with the city's managers and technicians, Autobat decided to upgrade to the Trojan lithium-ion batteriesmarket leader in this segment.

Why Trojan's lithium-ion battery?

Greater reach

By combining multiple batteries, the traditional 48V lead-acid package was reduced from 6 to only 3 48-volt batteries. This allows the golf carts to travel unlimited distances travel.

In addition, the weight of the battery pack significantly, which improved the overall performance and wear of the golf carts.

Faster charging

Trojan lithium-ion batteries offer unmatched performance with a full charge lasting in less than 4 hours achieved.

In the process, the battery does not emit any gases. No gassing means no corrosion or damage to the golf cart, making regular maintenance unnecessary.

The significantly longer warranty period provides unprecedented certainty and safety. This amounts to 8 years compared to traditional lead-acid variants with only 18 months of warranty.
